The Art of Space(Zenith Press ) , redact by io9 contributor Miller , mastermind the sprawl history of artistic depictions of quad into era and schools of style and proficiency , countenance the referee see how space fine art has developed and change over the past two hundred age . Most of the story is tell through the subtitle that follow each image , letting the images themselves fill the pages . There ’s also an introduction by eminent uranologist Carolyn Porco , plus in - depth sidebar by Miller highlighting finicky artists or important event in space art history .

Even as someone with a fascination for space artistry will learn a batch from this book — Miller manages to cover a lot without give detail . There are early woodcut , pulp magazine magazine covers , Soviet space propaganda , computer generated nontextual matter , airy imaginings , eccentric noncitizen , even art made by astronaut .
