Poor Fat Neil . Even when he venture out into other reality , such as the Green World on Awake , Community ’s short schlub still gets messed with . In last nighttime ’s Awake , Fat Neil had to observe the popular girl in high school commit suicide right in front of him — and then he wander up getting accuse of rape . He probably wished he was just gettingscrewed with by Pierce , as common .

Sadly , the Fat Neil cameo was just one of a few great things about an otherwise meh instalment of Awake . I liked the dead guy turning up in concrete , and how ludicrously proud the aesculapian examiner was of get down the soundbox out . I wish Michael blast the abusive pop to the rampart . And Michael ’s speech about “ Oh , yeah , Vega is haunt with societal inequality and all that stuff . Me , my thing is code violations , ” was priceless . Oh , and the fast food speaker talking to Michael cue me of the burger mascot babble to Wesley on Angel — so that ’s a plus . There were some badly fun moments in this installment , to be sure .
But it sense like a lurch in the wrong counselling , generally . Both because we once again had two forgettable enigma with an obvious culprit , rather of one interesting mystery story — did anybody not peg the dad and the brother severally as the awry - doers in the two case , the present moment we saw them ? I feel like a broken disc , but I just do n’t think this show is ever going to be able to rend off the “ two case in two worlds ” affair with any level of achiever — the culprits are always going to be obvious , the cases are always going to have one twist , tops . Neither of these was as forged as the fertility doctor who was obviously fertilise his own patient a few week ago , but still .
And then there was the move back to “ conspiracy possibility ” country . Like a caboodle of people , I ’m really untrusting of this show ’s decision to layer an eeeevil conspiracy on top of all the other stuff that ’s get going on . And the attempt to make a secret whodunit component , in the nervure of Lost or whatever , just find like the wrong running . On the other hand , if you are going to expend a lot of sentence on the mystery elements , then you ought at least to move forward — this episode featured several repetitive scene of Michael gossip the same warehouse , and learning dead nothing each time .
( Although one thing about the malevolent confederacy — it would be kind of cool if the Captain was in on it in one world , but not in the other . Especially given that the Captain in Green World seems kind of cool and altruistic , what with her mad speech to the picayune maltreated girl . That would be a not bad twist indeed . )
All in all , this was a slight disappointment after two excellent episode in a row . For a show that ’s ostensibly about a guy who ’s torn between his wife and his son , this instalment gave us almost no meter with either of them — which is a trusted sign of a show that ’s trying to do too much and not quite gain any of its goal . That said , I still have insane total of religion in this show , and there ’s no question that I ’m in it for the prospicient haulage , after the last few weeks .
