Kelly OsbourneandSid Wilson’s romance was a slow burn.
After the pair went public with their relationship and welcomed their first child together in 2022, Osbourne opened up about how she came to start dating the Slipknot member during a new episode ofThe Osbournespodcast.

“We first met when I was a kid, and I think we only saw ever each other as kids,” said Kelly, 39. “We were just friends, because there was a seven-year age difference and back then, that was a huge, huge gap. I was 13 years old, and he was in his early 20s.”
Kelly recalled Wilson, 47, and her brotherJack Osbournehaving a stronger friendship at the time due to their ages. Sharon, 71, said Wilson was “very social” and spent more time with the Osbourne family throughout Ozzfest than any other members of the heavy metal band.
For years, Kelly and Wilson remained strictly friends. “I think it was 2013 — maybe a bit before that — I ran into Sid when he had his record shop on Melrose,” she said. “And that’s when he decided that he liked me. I didn’t know this.”

They chatted periodically from there, and then Wilson invited Kelly to one of Slipknot’s concerts in Los Angeles about four years ago. “I went to the show, still had no idea that he liked me, and then we just started talking more and hanging out more, and it happened really naturally,” she explained.
“It wasn’t, like, forced. Because we had been friends for so long and known each other for so long, there was a sense of comfortability that I’ve never had with anyone else,” added Kelly.
Sharon noted that someone else recently asked her how she felt about Kelly dating a musician, and she admitted it would’ve been more odd to see her with a “normie.”

“I was never going to come home with anyone normal,” quipped Kelly.
Last month, Kelly and Wilson walked their first red carpet together at the 2024Grammy Awardsin Los Angeles.
