On Saturday, police discovered the body of his 73-year-old mother Myrtle Brown in Maywood, Ill., according toCBS. Natalia Derevyanna, a office spokesperson for the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, tells PEOPLE that she died as a result of “multiple injuries due to assault” and that her death has been ruled as homicide.

While he doesn’t explicitly refer to his mother’s death in the video, Brown says “it has to be the FBI.” He then claims that the bureau paid him an “unwarranted” visit on “Bob Marley’s death day.”
He pauses, looks up, and goes on to claim the Maywood Police Department “kidnapped” him on two occasions.
He then claims he thought Myrtle was “on vacation,” and that “it had to be the FBI or Maywood PD,” without explicitly stating what the “it” refers to.

Nick hadrallied on social mediato help search for the pair, and shared a photo on his Facebook and Instagram stories of his mother early Tuesday morning.
“I’m going to keep on pushing and won’t let you down,” he wrote alongside the photo, which he shared about 12 hours after Brown posted his video.
In the 2016 photo, Myrtle is seen holding a drink and smiling at a restaurant.
Sheila Simmons, the victim’s sister, spoke to local Chicago news outletWGN9, and said she last spoke to her sister on Thursday, Sept. 14, PEOPLE previouslyreported.
